I just read that Charles Frazier sold his follow-up to Cold Mountain for EIGHT MILLION DOLLARS based on ONE PAGE.
Actually, I feel a little badly for him - as crazy as that sounds. Because now he has eight million dollars worth of pressure while he's writing his book. It's hard enough to write and not feel like a total hack when maybe it's just your own eyes on it. Knowing someone's paid EIGHT MILLION DOLLARS for it, has to make that self talk all the more extreme.
